Doncaster Civic Trust

An independent group of local people interested in Doncaster’s heritage

Funding and Grants

The Trust is able to help with requests for grants in a number of ways:

Tree Planting
Over the years we have financed the planting of many trees in the town and surrounding villages.

We may be able to help organisations financially with tree planting provided the land is owned by a public body and there is public access.

Requests for funding should be made to Doncaster Civic Trust’s e-mail address.

Educational Grants
We operate a bursary scheme which supports students who wish to study built environment subjects such as architecture, town planning or urban design. We can also support students who wish to train for careers in traditional building conservation skills such as stone masonry and woodcarving. The individual awards are worth up to £1000 per year.

We also organise an architectural design competition for primary schools with a first prize of £500.

For further details see our Education page

Other Grants
The Trust’s funds are limited and our only income is from membership fees, investments and the occasional donation. However we may be able to help with very small grants on occasion. Recent examples include helping to fund two historical plaques including one at Barnburgh. All requests should be made to our e-mail address giving as much detail as possible.
